Why I built a scheduler that includes the open social web

Most schedulers priced me out or skipped Mastodon, Nostr, and Telegram. I wanted one composer I would actually use.

Most schedulers priced me out or ignored Mastodon, Nostr, and Telegram. I did not want a $200 inbox, a team seat matrix, or a content studio I would not open. I wanted to write a post and send it to the accounts I actually use, including the ones that do not show up in a typical supported-platforms screenshot.

The open social web is easy to skip because it does not have a sales team. Mastodon is a bunch of servers with slightly different limits. Nostr is keys and relays. Pixelfed and PeerTube exist whether or not a SaaS dashboard wants to deal with them. Telegram is a chat app that a lot of communities actually live in. If your scheduler only speaks the five big ad networks, you are choosing a smaller internet and calling it complete.

What I was tired of paying for

The expensive suites are not bad at being suites. Hootsuite will sell you an inbox, approvals, and reporting, and if you run a social team that lives in that shape, you should buy that shape. Buffer has been queuing mainstream networks for a long time, and it even has Mastodon. Later is strong if the job is an Instagram grid. I was not trying to beat them at the thing they already are.

I was trying to stop paying agency prices for a compose box, and I was trying to stop treating the open networks as a chore I would do later. Later never came. The post went to X. Everything else was a leftover.

Post Bridge is excellent if you mostly ship short video to TikTok, Shorts, Reels, and X, and you want a content studio. I will say that without a twist. If that is your whole job, use them. I needed the Fediverse and Nostr in the same send as LinkedIn, plus a way to listen on Reddit and Hacker News without pretending those are publish targets.

Early, named, and without a fake crowd

So I built PostBroadcaster. It is early. I use it. The homepage does not invent customers, and I am not going to invent them in this post either. When people I do not know start using it, I will put their names on the site. Until then, the honest proof is the product: sign in, connect what you use, post.

Support is email. You get me, not a ticket queue. That does not scale forever. It scales to the size I am actually at, which is the only size worth describing.

If you need a video studio and a wall of testimonials, there are better-looking pages than this one. If you need the open social web in the same composer as X and LinkedIn, this is the tool. If something breaks, email me.
